Getting My Stuff Offish of Social Media

I have found myself posting a lot more to Social Media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and a few others. The problem with this is that once you post something to these sites you automatically grant that site a license to use your content without any further compensation.
Some will argue that this is a justifiable compromise as they are allowing you to use their platform without having to pay anything for it. But this is not true as we pay them every time we go are exposed to an add or when companies get metrics about our habits. We pay them quite enough without relinquishing our creativity to them.
Another thing that irks me is that my content could be used in a campaign supporting something I don’t like or do no support in any way and there is nothing I can do to prevent them from doing this.
Things change drastically when all that is posted is a link! Which is exactly how most of my social content will be posted from now on.

A Little Experiment

Something else I am doing with this site is experimenting a little.

The main part of this experiment will be to only manage and update the site using mobile devices like my iPad and phone. Some may think this unnecessary but as I work more with my customers on their needs I like to make sure I have a full experience of the technology available to us today and in the future.
This post, and the main landing page are being written using my iPad and the graphics have been created using Canva.

Something else I will be doing is creating content using both the default block editor and my favorite editing tool, Elementor. I find it important to keep up on such things as both are valuable tools for creating great content, and not everything needs the splash and pomp that Elementor provides.

Let The Journey Begin

And now please join me as I continue this wonderful journey and share with you both the amazing and mundane.
